Confusion Is Sex III
2013
In 2013, I was invited to perform at Confusion is Sex III by Dawn Kasper, who along with Dino Dinco & Oscar Santos organized a day of performances by queer and artists at the Sepulveda Wildlife Preserve, a controversial site that has seen conflict between visitors and park authorities over the presence of cruising. I activated various natural and man-made pieces of the landscape through a vocal warm-up called a “siren,” in which the singer slides from the bottom of her range to the top and back.
